We started Smart Trends because we were tired of the same problem everyone has — you find a product on Amazon, it's got 4.5 stars, 6,000 reviews, and you still have no idea if it's actually any good.
Half the reviews are one-liners ("Great product!"), a quarter are complaints about delivery, and the rest contradict each other. So you end up spending 45 minutes reading strangers' opinions and you're still not sure.
That's where we come in.
What we actually do
We're a small, UK-based team that researches trending products on Amazon and produces honest, detailed reviews. Not press releases. Not marketing fluff. Proper reviews that tell you what's good, what's not, and whether it's worth your money.
We look at what's actually trending — what people are buying right now, what's climbing the charts, what's generating buzz. Then we dig in. We study the specs, cross-reference real customer feedback, and compare prices.
How we write our reviews
We use AI tools to help research and draft our reviews. Our process works like this: we identify trending products, gather product data and real customer feedback from Amazon, and then use AI to produce a structured, detailed review draft. Each review is editorially checked by our team before it goes live.
We believe this approach lets us cover more products, more thoroughly, than a small team could manage alone — while keeping the quality and honesty you'd expect from a proper review site. Every review includes genuine pros and cons, an honest verdict, and a clear rating.
Why should you trust us?
Because we don't have a reason to mislead you. We're not a manufacturer trying to shift stock. We're not a PR agency spinning a narrative. We use technology to research products properly and present our findings honestly.
When something's brilliant, we'll tell you. When it's overpriced, underwhelming, or just a bit rubbish, we'll tell you that too. Every review includes genuine pros and cons — because nothing is perfect, and anyone who says otherwise is trying to sell you something.
The affiliate thing (let's be transparent)
Yes, we use Amazon affiliate links. When you click through and buy something, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you. That's how we keep the lights on.
But here's the thing — we earn the same commission regardless of which product you buy. So there's zero incentive for us to push one product over another. Whether you buy the £15 option or the £150 one, it makes no meaningful difference to us. What matters is that you trust our recommendations and come back next time.
Based in the UK, reviewing for the UK
We write in pounds, we reference UK availability, and we understand that "affordable" means something different here than it does in the US. Our reviews are written for British buyers, because that's what we are.
